Wind of change
Living like a rushing wind with just no time to stop Feeling oddly guilty if there's a reason that I'm not. Trapped by what's expected, the required nine to five Finding that an in-box doesn't make me feel alive. It's like being on a treadmill, always on some cause Can somebody or something, force I take a pause? I ought to ring the changes and make a judgement call This motion only speeds me to that final puzzling wall. Accept my light bulb moment, may take its time to come Until the inspiration strikes, seek out what makes life fun. I might just keep that wall at bay, from moving nearer me By climbing far-off mountains, diving in turquoise sea. Truth is, I'm just a cliché, wanting to make my mark Perhaps in many small ways, I've already made a start. A little redirection and this wind will lead the way A destination taking shape where new adventures lay. Rewarded there by doing things for which I truly care Content to be outside the box, breathing in fresh air. |
